So, don your rumor hats.
Remember when Gearbox said, around the start of this year, that they were working on a super-secret 'big' project? Some people within the Official Xbox Magazine went off investigating, and they claim that a source has said the project is Halo 4. I'm skeptical, but I'm a cynic. It makes sense that Microsoft would want to milk the franchise, and with the departure of Bungie (Microsoft kept the rights to Halo) it makes sense that another developer would step in to take up the slack. The second part of this rumor, and that's all that it is, is that it's intended for a launch title on the Xbox 720. I find that even harder to believe, given that we probably won't see that for at least another two-three years. I would be willing to believe that Halo 4 is in development, I might even be willing to believe that Gearbox are the team behind it. I am not so willing to believe that it will be a launch title for an as-yet unconfirmed console, that's not likely to be here soon enough for it to have even been spec'd yet. Let the speculation begin! |
