Vivendi and Activision's merger seems to be knocking down the chances of some games. Among the first victims, Ghostbusters seems to be a target. The publishers will be forming Activision-Blizzard, and have said five games will be coming along for the ride: Crash Bandicoot, Ice Age, Spyro, Prototype, and a yet-to-be-named title.

Ghostbusters is obviously not in the running.

However, someone on the inside did state to Videogaming247 that it's not been canned as yet, and will be offered to other publishers. Sadly, chances are that it could not be multi-platform if another publisher does pick it up, meaning the shot at being released on the DS could be unlikely.

While not too many details about the 'possible' DS game were revealed before this, there were rumors of cartoon visuals, top-down driving of the Ecto-1, and upgrading of ghost-busting equipment.

Now, however, all we can do is wait.
