Speaking with G4, writer Chris Morgan stated that the Gears of War movie may detail the question of how Marcus received his scar. Also, we will see chainsawing and blood-on-the-camera goodness. No release date has been set at the time of this writing, however Chris did state that they are shooting for a 2009 launch.
In non-Comic-Con news , two new video games have been announced from the comic magnate DC. One is a fighting game entitled "Mortal Kombat Vs DC". The game is being published by Midway games and will feature DC heroes and villains battling against their Mortal Kombat counterparts. Characters released thus far include Superman, Batman, Catwoman, Flash, Captain Marvel, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Shang Tsung and Sonja Blade. The game will feature destructible environments and a "mini-game" event that will allow opponents to battle while going from one piece of an environment to another. Character models will show damage and every character in the game will have a "finishing move" - DC Villains and all Mortal Kombat characters will have Fatalities and the DC heroes will have Brutalities. The game has no release date at this time. Mortal Kombat VS DC will be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC
The other DC game coming eventually down the pipeline will be DC Universe Online. Almost no information has been released as of yet about this Massively Multiplayer online game. We do know that the game will be a PS3 exclusive, that you will NOT play as any of the cast of set DC Characters. Instead, you will create your own new hero or villain in the vein of City of Heroes. The story and features of the game are being kept under tight wraps and no release date has been offered.
