A team at MIT has developed and built a new solar dish that has the capability to melt steel at it's focal point. It amplifies the sun's energy 1,000 times, and can be very useful in developing more forms of fossil fuel independence. The best thing about it? It is made completely of aluminum pipes and mirrors, so it has a relatively low price, especially compared to other forms of solar power such as photovoltaic cells.
