This morning, we have a first-look at the assets that'll be packed with Guitar Hero World Tour, currently scheduled for release in "Spring" of this year (who knows, it may arrive before that other game involving musical instrument peripherals...)

Currently in development for Wii, PS3, PS2 and Xbox 360, we've got some pretty pictures of the guitar you'll be rockin' out on, the new microphone and - excitingly - the new drums.

That's right - not only does the new Guitar Hero have a newly designed, more responsive guitar controller, but it's also got a shiny new microphone and offers "the most realistic drum experience ever in a video game", thanks to an authentic electronic drum kit (which you may recall from this celebrity video featuring The Police, Blink 182 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers). The new drum kit features three drum pads, a bass kick pedal and two raised cymbals, and claims their velocity-sensitive drum heads are both larger and quieter, and made of soft rubber to create an authentic bounce-back.
