![]() Along with news of the impending rerelease of Gears of War on 360 and PC at a lower price point on June 4th and its special edition counterpart 20 days later, exclusive insight has now been given by Cliffy B. into the sequel's multiplayer gameplay and weapons. Stated in the article was a most curious detail: that the team had considered dedicated servers for Gears of War 2 multiplayer, but ultimately decided against it. Several weapons are detailed including the poison grenade, shield, more than one assault rifle, other superweapons including the Hammer of Dawn, as well as a gameplay element that causes charging players to slow down when barraged by bullets. An interesting game mode called Wingman is introduced, allowing 5 teams of 2 people to run around for domination of the map in a kill-fest. One of the most unique new features is the Battle-Cam. This may sound like "oh, they have that in Call of Duty 4 when you die," but rest assured, this feature is much, much cooler. New maps, modes, weapons, and details on the new feature of Executions are all there for the reading. For complete details you should visit the article by IGN. |
