I found this great list of the most anticipated video games that will be coming out in 2009. After reading this list I got very excited for some of these titles coming out. I think that 2009 will be a great year for gaming.

Ketsenburg, who lives in Hutchens House, said that after his Xbox was stolen, he turned on his wireless Xbox controller and found that it was still connecting to his Xbox. Based on this discovery, Ketsenburg said he realized that his Xbox must be nearby, he said.
The controller connected to the Xbox on the fourth, fifth and sixth floors of Hutchens but not on the third floor and seventh floor, so through process of elimination, Ketsenburg said he figured out that the stolen Xbox must be on th . . . Read more
With the recent release of the NXE, that is New xbox Expierence, there comes the addition of Avatars. So yay! We can now make little video graphic representations of our selves on the xbox we spent so much money on, how very very narcissistic...

As xbox gamers everywhere start up their screen they will be greeted for the last time by an old friend, a blade resting upon the side of their screen telling them it's time to upgrade. Roughly 10 minutes of download and install later they must begin anew, with a fresh brand new xbox dashboard eagerly awaiting to be played with.
"Oh joy!" Cheer the gamers, "Oh joy! Our wait is over, the time has come. Now let me make my avatar, and watch streaming Netflix videos, and shell out money for party . . . Read more
Legitimizing rumors from earlier this year, Sony has registered a patent for a new, break-apart controller with advanced motion-sensing technology. Originally uncovered by a poster on Neogaf, this new controller -- should it actually see the light of day -- would put the PS3 in more direct competition with Nintendo's Wii.
This new controller isn't just another revision of the Sixaxis; rather, it looks like a complete overhaul of the form and function of the device, resembling a pair of ice cr . . . Read more
Sales of the PlayStation 3 in Japan have dropped once again this week, leaving the PlayStation 2 to outsell its successor for the second week running.
According to figures from Media Create, the PS2 sold 8618 units for the week ended October 5, compared to 7232 PlayStation 3 units, down from over 1000 units the previous week. Although Microsoft's Xbox 360 (8271 units) continues to outsell the PlayStation 3 in the region, it too has been outsold by the much older PS2 system. Of all the h . . . Read more

War will be brewing! Another console war, that is. Or so it could very well be, as market analysts are predicting that's when we can see the next generation of consoles released. But some aren't so sure, wondering if maybe the competition between Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo for being "first and best" won't lead one or another to release a new console first.

"Microsoft's not content. Despite ostensibly having one of the best user interfaces of all the major consoles, Microsoft is reinventing the Xbox 360's look. The underlying Xbox Live foundation will remain the same, but Microsoft wants to make life even better for users by making existing features easier to find and use, decluttering the marketplace, and vastly improving the social experience of Live." -Gamespot

As some of you may have read from Sangue's news, microsoft is considering avatars for xbox live. One of the reasons for this is "SBG Channel". From what I could tell, it will feature game shows and other online competitive games. I just took a survey over it, and one of the mottos they had was 1 against 100, so it may support up to 100 people playing all at once. The survey also went over avatars as well, and made it seem as if they were explicitly connected to the SBG Channel.

Bad news, bargain hunters; Nintendo has gone on record saying there are no imminent price cuts for the Nintendo Wii or DS. Satoru Iwata, the company's president, said he did not believe in the "model" of price slashing, as it tends to leave early adopters feeling a little disheartened. Though we do agree, surely early adopters are well out of their honeymoon phase by now?

This topic has been discussed many times in the past. Come to think of it, this topic never seems to fade from the spotlight when discussing Microsoft and Sony’s mammoth console machines, the Xbox 360 and PS3. What’s interesting about this topic is that a lot of people were quick to side in the way of the PlayStation 3 when it was first released as being “future proof”. The Xbox 360's multi-use of a standard DVD player with the option of attaching an external HD-DVD made it look like it
