Asylum Entertainment has announced that GardenParty, an online world/game aimed at 5 - 11 year olds, has entered public beta. GardenParty is a world built for children to play and interact. Players plant seeds and tend to the seeds until they grow into toys or other games. Sounds like an interesting concept for a game, plant seeds that allow players to play more games.

A warship off pirate-ridden Somali waters captured 14 pirates and destroyed their boat, the fisheries minister for the northern Puntland region said on Sunday.

"About 14 pirates came across a warship that we think could be American and all the pirates on board were captured and their boat destroyed," said Abdulqadir Muse Yusuf, the fisheries minister for the semi-autonomous region.

Epic's Gears of War franchise senior producer, Rod Fergusson, has said the developer's titles are starting to reach the upper end of Xbox 360's capabilities.

Speaking to Gamasutra, Fergusson said he believes developers in general are closing in on the limits of what Microsoft's console can do, but added that games will continue to look better as they spend more time working on the platform.

Sony Worldwide Studios president, Shuhei Yoshida, has said he expects Little Big Planet to be the PlayStation 3's biggest title in all markets this year.

Yoshida told Videogaming247 that he even expected Media Molecule's title to be a hit in Japan, further explaining Little Big Planets' importance to Sony by describing it as "the way the whole industry will be going".

Sony Japan will expand its PSP offerings over the coming months with the introduction of the much requested native PSP store and a separate network service enabling users to play PSP titles online through PS3, in addition to a series of PSP-3000 bundles.

The PS3 version of EA’s Mirror’s Edge will be getting exclusive downloadable content post-release via the PlayStation Network, but the game won’t be released on PS3 ahead of other platforms.

The North American release of Stalker CS has been delayed once more, after it was discovered that the publisher Deep Silver accidentally printed all the retail boxes without CD keys. Only North America is affected by this little SNAFU, and Steam customers can download without delay. If however you folks in the USA wanted a boxed copy, prepare to wait till at least September 15.
