Return of Sega's other other golden child

PSO is finally getting a sequel, which is planned for sometime in 2012.
Sega recently closed their 1st alpha, and have plans to start up the second, open-alpha within the near future.
Relative to the other games in the franchise, this has the biggest shift in terms of cinematics, gameplay, customization, and player-count. New abilities include "stepping" and dodge-roles.

Nintendo to drop 3DS price.

Nintendo has decided to drop the price on their newest handheld which was originally price around console prices at $249.99. The new price of $169.99 will be a nice relief for families around Christmas time and for anyone wanting to buy one.

Microsoft releases beta of SDK for Kinect

The beta version of the SDK for Kinect has been released, completely for free. Microsoft has upheld their promise to allow people to play around with the peripheral.
The SDK is based on the software used on XBOX 360 but ported to .NET platform. You can use the libraries with the .NET language of your choice (C#, VB.NET or C++.NET). Notch, the creator of Minecraft, was a hit at E3 and has tweeted how much he enjoyed the Expo and has said a bit about what the future has in store for Minecraft.

Microsoft Webpage glitch allows viewers temporary early access to E3 surprises

The Microsoft website had a small glitch this morning that temporarily allowed viewers to see some special suprises in store for Xbox 360 players.

Witcher 2 developer gives good news for gamers.

You know those retailer specific pre-order DLC's you can get if you buy from a specific company, how if you don't you have to buy them to get them? Well for the Witcher 2 the game developers have assured everyone that all DLC will be free.
The only things that will have to be bought are expansion packs. Not your regular just add a side quest expansion packs either. Those will be DLC.

After years of back and forth debate the votes are in and it appears that games are now officially recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts as an art form.
The NEA is a US government organization/program that funds artistic projects that enhance the public good.
Game makers can apply for a $200k grant if they are going to be giving away the game for free and it is deemed as public good. Read More
Sony confirms credit card data stolen during hack.

The morning of May 2 Sony found how deep the attack on PlayStation Network really went. According to Sony credit card information was stolen.
While only 12,700 card numbers have been stolen, they were only from non-U.S. cardholders from an outdated database which did not hold the card's security codes.
Word to the wise, track your credit card spending and keep and eye out for any suspicious activity. Read More

Minecraft gets official when it comes to mods

Although Game: Minecraft already has mods, Mojang has decided that it wants to make mods official.
Signing up is completely free and will require you to agree to a license deal but will give you the source code and gives developers a unique certificate for signing their mods.
