It appears that Crytek is looking into some new gaming ideas... and helping people at the same time.
How on earth would they do that you ask? Well simple, they would create a game to teach you self defense.
"The trademark application is for the phrase "Self Defense" and applies to both video games and print media (such as books, leaflets, and so forth). I assume this means the game is instructional in nature and would be accompanied by some sort of literature."

Sony's Moton Controller May Finally Have a Set Name!

The PlayStation Arc/Wand/Gem/Whatever may finally have an actual name - and a logo.
As of last week, all signs were pointing to the official name of Sony's motion controller being "PlayStation Arc" - but a wrench was thrown into the works by an existing Microsoft trademark.
Now, after undoubtedly-frantic scrambling to think of a new name in Sony's boardrooms, we may have a new name for the Sony motion wand: PlayStation Move.

Rockstar North has confirmed that they are still going strong with the making of a PS3 exclusive named Agent.
"We last heard news on Agent back in November last year and Rockstar North, who are developing the 70's themed spying/espionage title, have been rather quiet about its progress. During the Take-Two 2010 Q1 financial's conference call they stated that the game was "still in development" at Rockstar North which is promising."

HTC Steals Apple, gets sued.

Apple has accused HTC, the company who brings you the first phone to use google's OS and Nexus One.
Steve Jobs had this to say,
"We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it. We've decided to do something about it...We think competition is healthy, but competitors should create their own original technology, not steal ours."
While this is all going on coincidentally Apple is being sued for Stealing technology from Nokia as is Kodak.

This new study "claims that it proves a connection between violent video games and aggressive children."
A Different study was done at Texas A&M University that states that their study "included many studies that do not relate well to serious aggression, an apparently biased sample of unpublished studies."

Valve gets cryptic with new patch

A new pc update to the ever popular game Portal comes with some interesting new findings.
The players have found around 18 minutes of morse code in files within the game, Translated they make out 5 different messages and if you turn them into a picture file you will get a static picture
"creating static-filled pictures with keyboard buttons and obscure written notes"
A new achievement is also implemented where you must destroy were you must collect 26 Radios.

Usually you have to have a petition or major uprising to get a game company to listen to you, well not with Naughty Dog.
".It seems the main community complaint - that it’s too easy to kill enemies by shooting them in the legs – will be addressed, with decreased limb damage under consideration."
Although the Patches are not for sure to go through, Naughty Dog is considering multiple tweaks to Multiplayer that have been complained about by the community.

Mac games go full "Steam" ahead

Mac OS X may be getting some Steamy action with well... Steam. The recent Steam beta that was released had some interesting files in it, such as some Mac buttons and an osx.menu file.
"Apple has shown little interest in helping desktop gaming, preferring to concentrate on productivity apps and conventional entertainment. Any Mac titles distributed through Steam would still need to be ported individually, sometimes a difficult proposition as a result of different architectures and drivers."
